The 27-year-old UK man who has become notorious as the ‘lottery loser’ by blowing through a £9.7 million lotto win in eight years, has told friends that he plans to recoup his fortunes by investing in a friend’s online gambling site.
This week former bin man Michael Carroll – the self-titled “King of Chavs” – hit the Daily Mail headlines again when he sold his badly trashed 5 bedroomed home The Grange to a travel agent for £142,000, taking a £600,000 loss on his initial post-lotto purchase price and over £400,000 spent on improvements.
Carroll’s ex-wife will get half the cash from the sale and after paying estate agents and solicitors, he will be left with just £63,000.

Harrah's Entertainment Harrah’s Entertainment launched their online casino sites several months ago, and although they do not accept US gamblers, the company is appealing to US online gamers. Harrah’s has started running advertisements for their World Series of Poker website.
Harrah’s became the first of the big Las Vegas casino corporations to enter the Internet gambling market. The company has unveiled sites, some using the Caesar’s brand name in European countries where Internet gambling is regulated by the government.

Californian state senator Roderick Wright was in the headlines again this weekend, indicating that he supports legalised sports betting, which experts say could generate an additional $1 billion for state coffers. Wright is perhaps better known for his attempt (currently on the back burner whilst he considers opposition comments) to licence and regulate online poker in California.
The state senator is a Democrat from Inglewood who chairs the legislative committee overseeing gambling, and he supports a lawsuit filed by New Jersey officials challenging a federal law that limits sports betting to Nevada and a few other states.

The controversial and long-running legislative argument about what land gambling expansion should take place in the state of Massachusetts moved a step closer to resolution on Saturday when the Massachusetts Legislature gave initial approval to a casino bill that would create the most sweeping expansion of gambling in the state in four decades.
Gov. Deval Patrick, however, threatened to veto the bill, which could lead to the availability of three land casinos and two slot machine parlours, to be bid on by the state’s four racetrack owners. Patrick, a proponent of the new casinos, is opposed to the slot machine parlours and said he would send the bill back to lawmakers, recommending changes.

A popular casino bonus that randomly rewards players is back at All Jackpots Casino. The promotion is called Bonus Magic and while I can’t say there’s any sorcery involved, I imagine anyone who wins will have a rather magical feeling.
Imagine this scenario. You log on to your favorite online casino (in this case, it’s All Jackpots Casino) and start playing your favorite games. Out of nowhere, the casino informs you that you’ve won some extra money. What did you do to earn that reward? Nothing, other than that you happened to be playing at the casino at that time. Sounds pretty good, right?
That’s basically what happens with the Bonus Magic promotion. The

Cereus Poker continues to excel just two months after a widely publicized security flaw the company quickly fixed.
This week, Cereus has pushed aside Ongame to become the 5th biggest online poker network globally. The network is home to both UB.com and Absolute Poker, proud Gambling911.com sponsors. Smart marketing and excellent branding visibility can be attributed to the company’s steady growth.
More importantly perhaps is that Cereus has a shot at cracking the top 3 by summer’s end.
PartyPoker, the world’s number three online poker room, has witnessed a decline from just over 5000 real cash players six months ago to around 3700 this past week. It appeared to be in little danger of falling out of that spot for the next two months as the number 4 online poker network, iPoker, also continues to lag somewhat.
Cereus was only 800 real cash players behind the iPoker Network however.
The company also announced plans on Monday to build on its German player base. &qu

Day 2B of the Main Event at the 41st World Series of Poker started Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas, bringing together the survivors of Days 1b and 1d as the attrition process continues. The field of 2,412 was heavily star-laden for the $10,000 buy-in flight, but by the end of the day some of international poker’s most recognisable names were out of the competition and the Main Event.
Notable exits were multiple bracelet-holders Phil Ivey and veteran Doyle Brunson, whose son Todd was also a casualty.
